Re: What's up with magsters?

Wait for the obituary before you divvy up my goodies ya' freaks! :)
I've been busy with life lately and haven't flashed up iboats for a bit. I'm still around... always will be!
As for the Tolly, you guys know I've had it for sale... I've shown it a couple times now and had a full price offer last Wed. The fella' (nice guy/family and a good home for her) gave me a deposit with a couple 'subject to's (a survey and a sea trial). We did the sea trial on the weekend and the survey/haul-out gets done today. I'll get another bigger (moored) boat after I get my mortgage paid down a little more. For now I'm going back on a trailer... so... here's the fun stuff...
Who likes boat shopping? I do, I do!
I found this one not far away from where I am. I'm going to make an offer on it as soon as my deal's complete. Whataya' think of this model?
1995 Sea Ray Sundancer (5.7/bravo 2)
I wasn't sure you actually decided to sell her. I definitely recall the discussion though. That SeaRay looks nice. Will she get the cruise speed you want?

Welcome back!! BC and I would've taken good care of her though.

Glad to see yer still around magster. BTW I was waiting for QC and BC to duke it out. I figured while they were pummeling each other I'd make off with the (your) spoils. ;) :) But anyway,......... nice looking Sea Ray, hope she works out for ya.

Re: What's up with magsters?

:)
You guys kill me (figuratively)!
QC;
I think that Sea Ray has a 22 mph cruise and about 32 wot. There's another one in Vancouver (Brother Chris's stomping grounds). It's a '97 with a 7.4/Bravo 2. Apparently that one cruises at 29 ish and will do just shy of 40.
I like Sundancers, they're nice boats.
First things first though... the surveyer came down to my boat this morning and immediately started telling me about all the bad things that boats 'this age' have... before he even looked at anything. We'll see. I'm not dumping my price because of this guy. I know what condition my boat's in regardless of what this guy says about 'boats this age'. For all I know, him and the buyer are buddy-buddy. I told the surveyer straight out that the deal we have is what it's going to stay regardless of what his survey has on it. He didn't like that. I don't really care. :)
What's the worst case scenario... I have the boat another season? Sounds ok to me.
I really like boat shopping though...

BC;
What part of Van. are you in?

LT;
Thanks... I think :) .

It's easier to say Vancouver, I actually live in Langley, down by the river(the mighty Fraser).
Only minutes to launch from here. :cool:

magster, I am glad that everything is alright with you. I am apalled that these guys would talk in such a way about you and your things! The nerve of them!

So, if the deal doesn't go through, and something happens to you, can you put it in writing that I get the Tolly? ;) :D

Re: What's up with magsters?

aspeck... :)
Funny thing... the surveyer, later today, (in front of the buyer and myself) had all these concerns that he kept going on about... to the point where it was sounding like he was 'hacking' my boat without stating what the problem(s) were. Nothing he said was a 'problem', just a concern. When I thought it was time to punch him out and throw him in the water the buyer asked him where this Tolly rated as far as the average one is. He said definately in the top 5%. Hmm. ok... maybe he's not a geek? So he finishes his survey and gives the all clear... it was going to be another few minutes before we got lowered back in so I took a minute to check everything out. I found the prop shaft strut was loose... the surveyer missed it even though he was just playing with it. I had to shake my head. The surveyer said to pull the whole thing off and change the plywood backing on the inside because it'll be rotted... blah blah blah. I just nodded. I know the hulls in these boats are solid glass down there... almost 2" thick!. I resealed the bolts and did her up. I think it was $500 plus the $180 haul-out for that survey... questionable value for sure.
Anyways... IT'S TIME TO SHOP!

Re: What's up with magsters?

Yeah, she's gone.
I'll miss that boat, she was a beauty! :(

Anyway... turn the page... a new chapter in our boating lives is about to begin! With a bit of luck I'll find another beauty.

I'm not going to cry a river; These folks will look after her well. They're good people. Plus, I got the 'right' buck for it... made a couple. I also kept the new Honda 4 stroke, the stereo and the tv-dvd unit. They'll find a new home on the new boat.

I have been thinking about this whole mortgage 'thing'... I'm going to post a question later about what to do... or what would 'you' do. I gotta' get goin' to work.
Cheers!
