Recently bought a 1996 Force/Mercury 40 Hk outboard.

There's an appendage at the controllbox I can't really place (doesn't show in the manual), could this be for a tachometer? If so, where can I get one..?

I think it is the tach accessory harness and you should be able to get it from any mercury dealer

thanx, got one from quicksilver, 'new old stock' from the dealer, got it with a nice discount... :)
