Whats my Outboard worth???

I have a 1979 Mercury 200 HP OB
W/ power trim

has new water pump, impeller, thermostats w/ gaskets, 2x SS 21pitch props, Mercury deluxe controls.....

just trying to get an idea what its worth selling it private party Vs. selling to a shop that buys used OB's.

Private party sale around $2000 if its a good runner. You'll get a better price in the summer months than the winter or after boating season. A dealer isnt going to be anywhere near as generous and they'll sell it in the $2500 to $3000 range . Depends where your at of course but around here modern ( Post '90 ) 100 plus HP outboards START at $3200. 70's and 80's outboards start at $1000 and max out at $2500 ish

In my area it will bring from $700- 1200 max. You have to remember thast a non finger port motor an only puts out about 180hp at prop

I love how they end the offer with the word "cash"....as if you might be expecting payment in food stamps, apples, or some other odd form of payment.
