What year Mercury 90hp?

I just bought a 1983 Bayliner Capri with a Mercury 90hp 6 cylinder. I was told the outboard is a 1984, but I can't seem to identify it by the serial #A123457.

Any help in identifying the year would be appreciated so I can get the right manual. Thanks!
