What year Johnson outboards

I recently bought 2 Johnson outboards - a 4HP and a 2.5 HP?<br /><br />4 HP info: Model # 4W71D s/n C47279<br />2.5 HP? info: Model # HD10 s/n 42149<br /><br />Info on year etc would be appreciated.<br /><br />Thanks<br /><br />Steve

4W71 is a 4hp 1971<br /><br />HD10 is a 2.5hp 1940

Hi, Steve.<br /><br />Your 2.5HP HD-10 requires a 24:1 fuel mix. It uses a Champion J8C plug, gapped at .030<br /><br />The 4W71D can use 50:1 mix. Champion J6C plugs gapped at .030<br /><br />Points for both are set at .020.<br /><br />Good luck.
