What year is my evinrude

I just recieved a mystery evinrude. the Serial # is 6202DJ05862, could anyone tell me the year and Hp of this. also is there instructions on this forum for rewinding the recoil. Thanks, Greg

6206D is a 1972 6hp.

I have not seen instructions for rewinding the recoil but if you wind up the spring almost completely and then allow it to gently wind on a new cord cut to the same length as the original you wont be far wrong. A little trial and error may be necessary to get the right balance beween the pre-tensioning of the spring and winding in all the cord.
A manual will tell you the correct length of the cord and how many turns to wind up the spring​
