What year is my engine?

Hello all!
I have an Evinrude 30 hp that I'm not sure of the mfg. year. I come up with 1996, but when I go to the Evinrude site under the year 1996 my model # isn't there E30TELEDB. ED = 96 correct? The "B" also throws it off. I see one ending with an "E". I'm trying to get numbers to order fuel filter, plugs, possible carb kit (Engine won't idle). Can anyone help me? Please!!!

1998 or 1996, your model # is incorrect. E(evinrude)30(hp)T(tiller)ELE(electric start) DE (1996) or CB (1998) they are virtually the same motors anyway.

I believe you've got an '89.

Restorator, thats what I kept thinking too 1996 or 1998, but iit is definetly a "D" and "B". If the "D" were an "O" it would be 1995
My wife even read it and came up with the same as me.

Alzheimers perhaps...you've got a '96. Sorry for the misinformation.

what you can do, if you are lucky, is compare the decals from 96 and 98 with your motor. All the pictures you need can be found here:
