What year is my 9.9 Mariner ?

Hopefully someone can help out, the serial number is 682 CS 008526 as per the attached pic. Also what does the "C" and "S" denote. Thanks in advance.

This one has proven to be a bit difficult but the s/n comes up as a 1979.

The C is the series, ie; 9.9C and the S should be for Short Shaft but Yamaha also lists the S as Saltwater

Does this match up with your engine?

Thanks Gerry, Sounds the same as what I come up with after some looking around. Thought that maybe the C was for counter rotation. What direction do these normally spin ??
