I have a 20 Ft Stingray open bow boat that I got just for keeping it at my house( friend got divorced, etc. ) It has sat for 10 years + and the engine is seized and the interior is completely done/ shot from the FL sun. The boat has a 3.0 OMC IL 4 cylinder engine and alpha 1 outdrive I believe. My friends parents owned it originally, hit a rock, replaced the entire outdrive with a new one, used it for 5 hours one more time, life got busy and it sat. Friends brother stole the starter ( or so I was told ) all the other accessories look good ( look good does not mean good, yes, I know )
Friend asked me to store it, 2 years later, just keep it. Now I own it. I have not even pulled a spark plug since I got it.
( before I go further, I just picked up a 1974 Star craft and I believe it would be perfect for my needs....fishing ). Anyways, I lightly pressure washed the hull of the Sting Ray and it looked pristine. The trailer is aluminum and perfect( now that I replaced the tires ) except for bow roller, already have a replacement and trailer will fit up to 24 FT boat. . I did some research and found a used replacement windshield for the boat is at least 900.00 USD. I was going to sell everything for 1500 . One part 900, thinking I may have missed something ( not the first time )
I am NOT trying to sell anything here.
Would you part it out, restore, list boat alone without trailer with option for trailer, leave it in the driveway dream about it, remove engine and drive, rebuild and sell separate ? Throw away all interior parts and make room for fishing ? Disassemble EVERYTHING ( cleats etc. ) for resale ?
Really would like to know what you guys would do as this time I apparently do not have an answer for everything.
