Hello,

Which ignition component would cause intermitent spark on one bank then on the other?

Sometimes both banks fire, sometimes only the starboard bank fires, and sometimes the port side bank fires.

At first I though it was only the port bank and changed the powepack but the issue swithed to the other bank and then back.

Does this sound like a stator, timer base, or rectifier?

Motor is a 1988 Evinrude XP 150Hp V6 35 amp system.

I do have the manual but no luck.

Please help!!!

Thanks for the quick reply! Where would I find the shift switch and how can I test it. Im breaking out my manual right now :)

I would love to FINALLY fix this issue and enjoy my boat for once.

Follow your shift cable back to your motor. You should see it right where it connects to the shift linkage. Disconnect the yellow and black wires that lead to it and see if your problem persists.
