What type of oil should be used in electric shifts?

I have a 1971 60hp Johnson electric shift. I've heard these should use a different type of lower unit oil? Is it going to hurt my gears/lower unit if I used regular lower unit oil?

You want to use type "C"....Not high viscosity...And yes, it will eventually harm the lower unit...

Dealer will have it, as well as online at many places...
