Could use some info on what I should be looking for in a bottom paint. 1981 fiberglass sea ray, used in fresh water of Lake Erie OH. Thought I would be alright this season, but I thought wrong. Alot of growth on bottom of boat. So any helpful tips on how to remove it would be of great help. Thanks for any tips.

Hello SR...

Why would you want to remove the AF paint ? Is it falling off ?

What type of BP ? I say VC17 ( though it only comes in 3 colors .. Gun grey, red and blue ).

You should be able to clean and coat with this ( 2 coats at first ).

Hello. Didnt notice a reply to my post, sorry. Most of the old paint is flaking off, or is totally gone. So bottom and lower side are stained. Was wonder if i had to sand stains off or is there a cleaner I can use. Boat is white and brown, brown bottom paint. I noticed there is not much of a selection on brown AF paint.

You should be able to just scuff it, clean it and paint it.

Also...you can paint it any color you want ( though I dont think they sell orange ;) ).

Thanks for the info. Little upset about not being able to get it in orange. She would look sharp with orange belly. Or maybe not so much. Thanks

Again.. for all those that might looksies on here..

VC-17 I think is the best on the market for pleasure cruising.

No build up and way EZ to prep and apply ( you can do it yourself better then trilx or bottomkt or etc with a foam roller ).
