Yep, but a circular saw set to 1/16" deeper than the thickness of the deck material will work better and faster.

Also depends on how water saturated your deck is. Sometimes a good hammer and 3' crow bar will work wonders LOL

Ayuh,.... I think a 4, 1/2" grinder is the A-#1 tool for hull dismantlin',...

A fist full ah disks of varyin' shapes, 'n compositions rounds out the package,...

I found it easiest to cut the deck out with a saw set to about half an inch, then I used an oscillating multi tool and a grinder to get the rest. I cut about two inches away from where I thought the deck wood ended. When I tried to cut WHERE I thought the deck wood ended, I sawed a 16" cut right through my hull.

Haha yes only one. Then on the opposite side of the boat, in about the same spot, I cut a groove into the glass about halfway through the hull. So I guess one and a half! :p I was super duper careful after I made the one cut.

The oscillating multi tool is nice. It can make flush cuts, it creates little dust which it does not throw everywhere, and it is relatively safe and easy to handle. But they are slow as Christmas and loud as heck! My grinder with a 24 grit resin coated sanding disc made short work of the inch or two lip of deck I had in places.

i like a hammer and chisel as i dont have to wear a breathing mask, just a set of safety glasses then just tap and move the chissel around the joint between the hull and the floor. once its cut free then i just ripped the floor up. Had the floor been less rotten then i would have used a circular saw in the middle to make it easier to rip out.
