Got to stop at hardware and pickup a stainless lock nut for the steering link on a 2003 90 hp Johnson. I forgot to measure, and if someone here knows, it would save me a trip home to check.

I believe you are right about the 9/16 wrench size, I seem to remember using it on both ends of the steering link. That narrows it down. Now I just have to buy two sizes...
