What size kicker

I'm currently shopping for a kicker. I'm looking at the new evinrudes, either 15hp or 25hp. Boat weight is about 4000#. Will either of these be sufficient for trolling or emergency use?

We need more info about your boat, plus about where and what you plan to fish for.

Rarely do you need a kicker bigger than 15HP though.

Yeap a 25 is a real exaggeration, max 15-18 horse with long or extra long leg will perform satisfactorily.
