I can't get the drain plug out on my outdrive.
I'm reading a drag link socket is the tool to use but they come in all different sizes. Obviously I want one that will fill the groove tight

What size should I get for a tight fit?

Biggest screwdriver I have didn't work. I even went to a tire iron flat end and I'm starting to strip out the screw but still have some meat on it so I'm stopping till I get the right tool

What alldodge said, I usually take a good flat screwdriver and give it a rap with the hammer, Works most of the time. replace the screw with one that has a better groove, and the gaskets at every change. Some of them are stubborn.

AHHH.....I was reading people recommend an impact screwdriver and I thought they meant an impact screw gun.

Are those bits it comes with big enough for the large groove in the screw or is it sloppy?

There not as big as I would like, but it works every time

I have ground a screwdriver to fit. But didn't want to destroy more of them. I now use a 3/16" steel drift punch and hit the corner using ball-peen hammer to loosen. Replace as needed.

The one AD linked to uses 3/8 sockets so you could get a bigger bit if you wanted.
I bought one like that 50 years ago and while I don't use it often it's saved my butt many times.
