What size boat?

Im new to the south carolina lowcountry. I have an 18 ft wellcraft cc sportfisher with a 120 outboard. It seems my boat is too big to navigate the miles of saltwater rivers around here. I want something that will properly navigate the back waters and be stable enough to throw a cast net for hours... But comfortably take me 6 miles out into the Atlantic on a clear day to the wrecks. I've been looking at the mako pro skiff 17, any thoughts?

Why do you say it's too big? A friend of mine has an 18' Wellcraft CC with a Yamaha 150 that he uses for flounder fishing back waters.

Most of the places he runs are less than 3 ft. deep and the channels are 50-100 ft. wide in most places.
