I resemble that comment...

Lab worker for 14 years, 2 in an environmental lab that extracted soil toxins from samples at superfund sites. Between the nasty chemicals and the toxins/mutagens we were extracting, I double gloved, and then still washed my hands after the experiment was done, before I left the lab, and before I went to the bathroom...

I have a friend that threw car batteries for a distributor. he said the same thing.... :eek:

If you can't find straight acetone, try nail polish remover. Acetone USED to be it's standard main ingredient. (plus some other stuff, I guess to make your fingers smell real pretty.)

(It may have changed to some environmentally safe chemical now, though, like what they're doing with pressure-treated wood)

Don't get it near plastic. It melts it.
