There is actually a very simple answer to BOTH of the oddities in the picture.
This is your afternoon brain flex.

Looks AI generated.

because trailer axles are usually square, the hardware mounting the axle to the spring is wonky and the coloring is off on the trailer

Why would anyone ave the ribs perpendicular to the supports ? I agree with a AI generated pic. Ribs on hull would wear thru quickly...gotta be an illusion or trick picture. Then again there are some real Bozo's out there !

I love finding this stuff.

But how many inexperienced yahoos out there think this is the way to set up a trailer?

Yeah OK if its ai to advertise bunk mounts ....and I gotta admit Im not sure but why would someone go to the trouble of bulls hitting up an image .
And I have seen home built trailers with a whole rear axle assy inc the diff out of some vehicle , admittedly on older builds . In NZ we can now buy trailer kits that inc hubs 'n' stubs springs , mounts , rims and ball hitch , but that wasnt always the case ...you used to have to cobble that stuff together yourself .
I just dont get why ....I mean if I wanted to try and hoodwink the general public Id post a pic of me with a horses tockley hanging out the leg of my shorts....but puttin a diff on a trailer ....nah 😁
