I don't recall anyone actually posting a pic of their peanut butter mix. So here is mine:

The tall cup with light grey stuff is micro glass spheres. The short cup with the white stuff is EZ Thick silica. The short cup with the stirring sticks is the peanut butter.

This mix is 50% poly resin (pre-mixed with hardener), then 25% Micro Spheres, and 25% EZ Thick. Makes a nice paste for filling gaps and chips, etc. At this mix it will not run or sag.

that is wax glass though. It looks like what wal-mart sells. You dont get much working time with that glass. If you call the number on the back of that can Monday-Friday they will tell you the amount of wax that is in the can if it has the lazer scribed number on the bottom of the can. They change their resin formula verry often. If you dont have that lazer number on the bottom then they cannot tell you. But all that bondo resin has the finishing wax in it.

Re: What Peanut Butter Looks Like...

One time i bought 2 cans like that from walmart. they came in the same case and one of the cans had like a amber colored resin. The second can had a greenish colored resin in it. Like i said they both came in the same case from the supplier cause the guy at walmart had to go to the little room where they keep the tires to get the case. they were out of it on the floor. the green resin gave me more working time. They were different batches of resin thats why i ended up calling them.

Been working with the Bondo stuff for about 4 hours now. It is not really good for any large layup. Lucky for me, the windshield frames have so many small surfaces that I ended up laying smaller pieces of glass to get a good fit rather than larger pieces. That worked ok with the Bondo resin because it sets up so fast you don't have time to work a large piece.

I use the Bondo resin to cast the MFG emblems regularly, but this is the first time I used it for glass lay up and its not the best choice. Next time I do glassing, I'll order the right resin for the job.
