Re: what paint to use

I just guessing that you are 'repainting' due to the old stuff peeling, flaking?
You can pretty much use any good oil based enamel for above the waterline. I like Pettit Easypoxy or Interlux Briteside, some of the guys here use Rustoleum. If trailering your boat where it will not be in the water for more than three days or so you could possibly use the same paint as well. (for the bottom)
Here's a link to a good website that may have the rest of your answer's.

Re: what paint to use

The color scheme is strictly yours. I'm not gonna' go there.
Did you go through the link I attached in the previous post? If you didn't then it is worth the time to read.
Do a Google search for your particular boat and look at some of them - might give you some idea as to the paint question.
BTW - what kind of boat are we talking about here? ( curiosity )

Re: what paint to use

I'm currently painting a fiberglass topper with Rustoleum Bright white Marine paint with only a roller. I was so happy with the results, I bought more to paint my Glastron with ( 1975 V178 ). Granted, spraying will give you a better finish if you are using a good sprayer and the roller takes longer, but it can be done. You'll need to wet sand between coats with 400 grit sandpaper.

Re: what paint to use

Ah, should have clarified...haven't painted the boat yet, just bought the paint. If all goes well, I plan to paint the whole thing, top to bottom with it. If not, I've got a small investment in some good paint to redo my lawn tractor :D My next choice is Interlux Brightsides.
