To look up the correct Parts list, I would need a Serial #.

When you cleaned the Carbs, did you remove what look like little Frost Plugs, and get the area behind them, all cleaned out? New Discs come with the Carb Kits.
Hello I was wondering if you can help me out finding the year of my mercury 50 hp outboard 4 cylinder 2 stroke my serial number is (6420756) I need to order some parts but can’t find out what year it is thanks in advance..

With a Merc, you need to give the Serial # to the Parts Person at the Dealer. Same goes for ordering online, the serial # will get you to the Correct Parts List
Mercury would often make changes to engines midway thru a Production Yr, so there could be several Parts Lists within a given Year.

You should have started your own thread instead of Hijacking this one
Do that and I will tell you what yr your motor is

Ok thanks I do appreciate it. I was thinking it was a 1978 1979 model. I’m glad I know now I can try to order some lower unit parts and gaskets
