what kind of electric fuel pump should I use?

I have a 235 hp Evinrude which is utelizing the 5/16" fuel lines and fittings
that exhist on the boat from a smaller previous motor. I would rather
leave the fuel lines alone because the quick release fitting which is attached to the tank is 5/16, and dont really want to tear it out. (If I dont have to)..
I am afraid that at high R's that the carbs will starve for fuel, but I am thinking that if I install a 12Volt fuel pump, it will pump enough
VOLUME of fuel to compensate for the smaller 5/16" lines.
My question is to ask anyone who is using an electric pump which choice they made. I know that a Mallory 'full race pump', 150 GPH is a little overkill.

1 thing to look at is the age of the current lines, how old are they? Are they showing any signs of cracking, drying out, etc... If so, you may need to change them sooner than later anyways, so may as well do it now.
