Re: What kind of boat(s) do you own?

2 weeks ago I bought a 1986 21'Invader Cuddy Cabin with a Mercruiser 230. It hadn't been used since 1994 and had only 68 hours on it.

I haven't owned a boat in 13 years because the last one was a nightmare. We'll see how long this one lasts.

Nobody even knows what my boat is, it's been viewed by many people in the industry and nobody has been able to identify it with any certainity.

It's a 17 foot half cabin. narrow beam, very shallow V, and clinker style sides.

It's getting alittle small for my needs nowdays, but I love it just the same. even if it does keep my wallet empty.

Rgds

Franki

I own a 1958 15' Geneva boat..runabout. Also have a 1970's 20' Harris FloteBote pontoon.

Wondering if "Gator", member number 3693, is still around on iboat forums. I see he also has a Geneva boat. Would like to find more info on Geneva boats, made in Hudson Michigan. I got a 1970's brochure from www.vmsl.com. but would like to find brochure on 1958 Geneva boats.

I purchased my first boat this spring. It's a 1973 16' Baja DV160 with a 1987 88SPL 'Rude. It needs a floor and some cosmetics, but lots of people on Lake Hartwell comment on it and ask what it is. Lots of fun for a small price.

I just sold my 2003 Ranger 175vs with 115 merc on her. Won it off a radio station. :D Had to sell because I now have a new member in the family. I now own a 1999 180 Bowrider Searay with a I/O 3.0L Mercruiser in her. Bought it with only 30 hours on the motor. Verified by my mechanic. Said the damn thing looked brand new. Now the entire family can go out.
Re: What kind of boat(s) do you own?

I bought a project boat in August.

It is a 17' 1965 Starcraft fiberglass v-hull. It has a 1964 75hp Mercury on it. It has new carpet, recovered seats, marine bondo-covered screw hole (thanks to the morons that owned her before me), aeverything has been rewired, new bow and stern lights, a new chrome trumpet horn, new anchor setup, new Teleflex steering, new throttle cable, etc.

I just had her out for the first time this past weekend. I never realized how much hard work (and a lot of money) make you appreciate your stuff, along with the fact that I know I am on the water in an antique!

One of these days I'll post links to my restore site (when I get it started).

Phatmanmike, with all those boats, I understand how you were able to help me out so much!!!!

All:
Put my new (to me) boat in the water in August.
It is a 1997 Bryant 212 Limited with a 7.4 liter
300 horse Mercruiser Bravo 1 outdrive. Had 73 hours on it, now has 110. Winter is comming to IL, but looking to move to FL!
Traded a '84 Century Merc 470 Mustang 195 for the Bryant. So far so good. Will get pics when we pull it off the shorestation this week-end!
Great post idea!

Re: What kind of boat(s) do you own?

Greetings all from the Chesipeake Bay,
My wife and I have 4 liabilities, a 79 Sea Ray 260 weekender, a 25' 1968 Coronado sail boat, a 34' Cheoy Lee Clipper (twin mast) and a 8' Ply wood dinghy with a 1956 Wards SeaKing 3.3hp. We are setting the Sea Ray up now to use for charter work. My wife will soon have her 50 ton master licence. We are refiting the Choy Lee for live abord. and have loved sailing the coronado on the Chesipeake.
The dinghy is mine:) The Coronado and the SeaRay are hers and the Choy Lee is Oures. But I get to work on all of them. Probly why I like the dinghy best!

Happy Boating,
BC

1969 MFG Westfield Regal "The Wet Spot" with a 55hp Johnson
My dad bought it 15 years ago as a "second boat" in addition to his 32' Marinette, he sold it to my brother in Austin who sold it to my step brother who sold it then bought it back from a friend, each transaction was between $700 to $1000, I bought it for $700 this year and have begun addressing some of the cosmetic and functional issues that all that hard use has caused.
http://photobucket.com/albums/v468/Av8rTX/My Boat/
