I got the boring job. CPA by trade, accounting manager at a large corporation in the transportation business. Our largest vehicle has a gross weight of 648,000 pounds and a cruising speed of 555 MPH.

Hey there Hang'n In. Yes, Hatch still runs in the canyon. Actually one of the better companies to work for. They pay well, and treat their folks really good. They're headquartered out of Marble Canyon, AZ though which is a long way from Phoenix! What company did you row for?

DR it was a small one from SLC, can't remember the name. We ran 12 - 16 footers so canyon was out. But, the Yampa has a class 10 that they tried running a J boat through! Helped pick up the the leftovers! We wouldn't run tourist through it just boatman (one on oars, 4 on paddles), tourist walked around it, you had to hit the every edge and paddle like ---- to avoid the big hole. We would camp sometimes in the same campground as Hatch, good bunch. Helped them on take out a few times and was offered a job; but, running was fun was to avoid work. I was the lead on material handling systems for a eng. firm: as long as project was under budget and under schedule they were real easy on getting time off -- ran one 4 or 5 day trip each week over the weekend all summer for 4 yrs.

On the Colorado we ran West Water and that can be a challenge in high water. Green river has some real challenges also. Never flipped a boat. But, wasn't unusual to have someone miss a hole and flip every few trips. Some trips were just floats, lots of water fights, people were always fun though.

M&R; sorry for the hijack.
