I recently bought a 1991 South Seas 15' jon boat. Nobody has ever seemed to have heard of it. (If anyone knows where I can get information about this brand of boats let me know). Anyways there are some decent sized chips in the hull in the front v which a repairman pointed out to me but he said it would cost like $200 for them to do it. So i'm just wondering what I would need to get to fill in these chips (they are between 1/8 and 1/4 inch deep). No water leaks through them but he suggested that I take care of it before something happens.

i have some matching gelcoat in a small can just mix it with a few drops of hardener and use a toothpick to fill those holes and chips, I have done that all over and it works great

What he said. It will take a few coats, and gelcoat is really hard to sand and buff smooth, but it's worth it. If you can get the color close, you can blend the repair in to be almost invisable.
