As it was a nice winter day today, I took the tarp off of my Crestliner to take a look at her to see how she is making out through the winter. In addition to being surprised by the pleasant smell of Bounce dryer sheets (thanks to everyone for that mouse repellent tip), I found something that I have not noticed before. I just bought this used boat a few months ago, and don't know what this is.

It is labelled "I.C.U Air Injection", and is on the passenger side console in the aisle to the open bow.

Please take a look at the pics and let me know.

I'm thinking this will be a quick thread/ reply!

You do realize that I.C.U. is universal for Intensive Care Unit?

Was the previous owner on life support???

It does not appear broken, and there is no switch, or toggle, etc.

It appears to just be a port of some kind, but nothing that looks like it would connect to an air hose or compressor

Well, per a Google search, it may indeed be an Intensive Care Unit!

My boat is a 1996 Crestliner Sportfish, however I found this site: http://features.boats.com/boat-content/2000/08/small-fishing-boats-and-motors-1998-2109/ ....which talks about a 1998 Crestliner Tournament Pro which may have a similar feature. Here's a cut & paste:

It?s dual livewells come with Crestliner?s patented ICU (Intensive Care Unit) livewell system and auto timer that automatically mixes and aerates the water every few minutes, keeping fish alive longer.

So I guess it's a sensor or timer????

Either your boat is really really fast or you are a really bad driver, to need a direct line to an Intensive Care Unit.:D:D

This is a plate for the intake of the air injection for your live well. When the pump for the live well is running, it injects air into the water to help keep the fish alive.
