What is this? - found on SX-A outdrive

Can't seem to find this white plug with L-opening and ribbed joiner(?) on any parts diagram.
The center is open as if its supposed to have fluid go down/through it.
Looks like it should have a fluid line attached but I can't find one hanging down...?

Still no hose found however I have a "traditional" drop down speedo "fin" attached to a hose so Im thinking the previous owner bypassed it perhaps (2007 Stingray 185)

The owner possibly or 2007 was right about the start of that speed O fitting of the SX_A so maybe the manufacturer / installer (or boat dealer too) didn't really know about it yet...Maybe...
