What is the best way to catch bonefish?????

I have almost no clue how i am new to catching bone fish what are some good rigs, bait and structure???

Shrimp,crabs,small baitfish. Bonefish will be found in "skinny" water: shallow.
No structure - open water. Need a good pair of polarized sunglasses. 8 to 12 pound test is plenty. Fun fish to catch. Release them nice and easy, give someone else ( and the fish ) another day to do the same.

flats / skinny water / calm day a real challenge/ live crab -small to med size/light rod / not to heavy line /splash will spook the ghost...

Everyone says stick to the flats with them and if I was going for bone fish that's what I would do but...


Every bonefish I've ever caught was on accident and it was in a canal that was like 20ft deep. Doesn't make sense to me.
