You know he could have died from being shot, infact the heart issue could have been the end this time.

I just wonder if the conservative opinion would be the same as now even on the alcohol and late reporting issue or would it be like Ted Kennedy and the bridge wreck.

Both were drinking, how much is unknown, both committed a wreckless endangerment to another person who may or may not have also been intoxicated, only difference one was party affiliation and the fortunately injured vs. dead.

Re: What if the lawyer died

Lets look at some dissimialarities(sp)now. One did all he could to help the victim, while the other left his victim to die. One involved a victim who's death was a benifit to the perpetrator, the other did not. One was involved in a coverup, the other was not,(contrary to popular liberal belief).

If the lawyer died, why I reckon there would be a funeral.

It was not reported late, as I understand it was promptly reported to the agency most responsible to respond, which by the way is NOT CNN, then it was reported to the local news paper.
I have been somewhat suspicious of this administration even though I tend to lean right in most cases, however being suspicious does not have to equual being paranoid or trying to invent an issue that doesnt exist.

If the lawyer dies, the case, which is already closed, will have to be reopened. Now it is involuntary manslaughter. Was alcohol involved?Possibly but not provibly.(new word)
It would probably finish Cheney's career as a politician, but he would definitely not do time.
Do I care?I would like to see him gone from the political arena, but I do not wish him ill in his personal life.He seems to be a very decent loving father to his daughter and a good husband.

Sorry, boyz, the lawyer is not only living, he left the hospital with nothing but thanks for his care, and concern for all the bovine fecal matter being aimed at the VP. Just another concocted democratic uproar in bad need of copious of Viagra if it's ever to amount to anything.

As for the VPs political career, I'm sure this will do it in. Not multiple heart attacks, not age, not having held the second highest office in the land for eight years, it's could only be this "scandal". Yeah, right, that's the ticket.

This is an unparalled troll jt. You can't be that dumb to compare the two. For starters, the US Secret Service IS bona fide law enforcement. How can you even pretend to say this went unreported to law enforcement. Second, medical authorities were notified immediately. Get a life!!!

Re: What if the lawyer died

I think it's pretty lame for guys who ought to know better to be out accidentallyshooting their hunting partners, but it's even lamer to have blamed the victim for getting shot, or to act like, "hey, getting shot up every now and then is just part of the way hunting works, OK?"

I don't think it was necessarily a big news story that had to break that very second, and I'm sure if **** had a choice, he probably would have preferred it not get out and about, but I don't see the "coverup", just the pathetic excuses and lame statements.

I taught firearm safety at Boy Scout camp two summers running when I was a junior and senior in HS, and when you follow a few basic rules, you don't shoot your hunting partners. If you do manage to shoot your hunting partner, it's your fault because you pulled the trigger while not following the rules. Which is what essentially what **** ended up saying, but not before a whole bunch of apologists stepped in to blame the victim and act like gettting shot is just part of the game.

Re: What if the lawyer died

2 years ago we had a hunting accident almost identical here. The blood alcohol level was so low it could not be accurately measured, accidental shooting. Why was that one not picked apart on an open forum? What is the big deal, can governmental officials not have accidents?

Oh yeah, and why was he only given a written warning for hunting without the proper habitat stamp for birds he was hunting?

I smell a huge conspiracy hatched by the oil companies to sell more gasoline at higher than ever prices!

I thought it interesting that the conservative talking-heads, media, etc. brought out their best hunters to declare that "it happens from time to time".

The liberals trotted out their most experienced hunters to say "if it happens, somebody's doing something wrong".

Lesson here is not to hunt with Republicans. They shoot each other and think it's OK.
