What grade of bolts to hold my sacrificial anodes on?

I just noticed on my new-to-me boat that one of the anodes is missing. Ordered a new one, but I doubt it comes with the bolts.

I ordered magnesium (freshwater use only), so what grade/material bolt would be the best to hold this on? Not sure if adding stainless to the mix would make a mess or if that is what is needed.

If you are talking about the pancake zincs (2", 3" or 4"), they come with the bolts. Other anodes do not. Go to the closest ACE, Lowes, HD, Marine store and get Quality Stainless bolts. The mixed metals isn't an issue, as that is why the anodes are there. The SS will keep from rusting in the threaded areas.

yes, pancake shaped anode at the fin on the outdrive. I wasn't sure if it came with bolts or not. I bought boat recently without anode, and am pretty much a newb at this stuff.

Thanks for input!

The flat (pancake) zinc and round (egg or shaft) zinc come with bolts. The finned zinc, like you see on Mercruisers/Mercurys don't come with bolts, but you can get the bolt for it where ever you buiy the zinc.
