What exactly is my new baby?

I just bought this sweet alum boat.
I believe she's a 1959 Aero 14', with a 25hp Gale Buccaneer and a 1959 River____? trailer.
Can you help identify her?
Any ideas on getting the controls and steering back to near-original shape?
Thanks, in advance for your time.

Well, I found out she's a 1959 SeaMist.
I went to the MASTER, Bill Mayer and he even has original controls and cables.
This is going to be a LOT of fun.

Wow, that Buccaneer brings back memories. I had a 5hp Buc and had the same cowling as yours. Great engine: couldn't kill it.

Re: What exactly is my new baby?

I found in the old paperwork, it was owned by a Robert Sloan, who also apparently sold Aero's, in the 60's; anyone have any info on the gentleman?
From New Hartford NY, to maybe his son owning this beauty in Palmyra.
I also have an original 1959 Aero sales brochure, if someone wants a copy, I could email it. The price schedule for new Aero's in 1959 (that list is a hoot).
and a 1959 NYS DMV schedule, under 16ft, $3.00 for 3 years for registration. the good old days.

Re: What exactly is my new baby?

so, I brought the engine to Bill Mayer:
a ton of new parts, cleaned and fixed and salvaged other parts, total bill, with new gear and throttle controls, racks and an original Gale ignition plate, magneto done, carbs rebuilt, all new seals, lower unit gone right thru and pressure tested, new starter, purrs like a kitten $566.00. idles so low, I'm not putting a trolling motor on.
she's like new and not made of plastic.
now to strip that army green paint off the hull and get the mirror finish back...

The Buccaneer where the previous season Johnson and Evinrudes that didn't sell....example left over 1955 Johnson...became 1956 Buccaneer.

I have a trailer exactly like yours. It originally came with a 16' ChrisCraft runabout on it. It has since been modified into a utility trailer. :D
