Work, raise kids, fix stuff. Not necessarily in that order.

Re: What else are you folks into?

When I was much younger I built and raced Go-Karts, raced stock cars and sport cars. I also messed a lot with firearms and hunted; squirrels, rabbits, pheasants and occasionally deer.

I also had a short career in local politics. That made moderating seem like a love-in.

In pursuit of creds in the Training and Development field I published a lot in psychology and training journals for college credits and taught seminars for universities. I traded those creds and a thesis for most of my PhD.

I am getting pretty old and feeble now, so I limit myself to moderating and writing for iboats and pond fishing.

Re: What else are you folks into?

I've always been into Classic cars and trucks and I currently have (2) older Chevy trucks (a '66 and a '72) that bring me a great deal of satisfaction, fun and community.
On the home front I'm continuing to (endlessly?) renovate our older '30's home and I am the principal 'builder' of all the gardens my wife (Master Gardener) likes to work in.
On the social front, I've got a really great group of friends and I try to get out with them as often as possible for a pub lunch or maybe an outing....maybe a classic car swap meet:D I love humour and as a group of friends we have a very comical time together....I love that part.
I play the piano and guitar although I try to 'time' when I do so that I don't disturb the household too much.
I'm hoping to spend a bit more time on the lake this summer with our very simple/small boat.
All in all....I'm a very project driven kind of guy....I'm always up to something. Wrenching, building, cutting, assembling.....and if I get close to finishing...I start a new project.
I love reading (although I need some glasses now) although most of the literature I read is technical in nature.
Anywhooo, thats my two bits.
All good
BP:)

Retired so no more work or baseball. Just grandkids and fixing what ever breaks for friends and family. Had a run of hot water heaters and sump pumps.
Traveling to south Florida every 6-8 weeks to visit family.
Getting the house ready to sell. Time to down size and move to South Florida.

Number one thing is trying to out sleep the dog, I'm losing but getting closer.

Bluegrass guitar player here. Well, I used to be. Mostly played for personal enjoyment but have been paid a few times so I guess I was semi-pro!!

As a fellow band mate stated one time, "We don't play for money .We play for spite."

Pretty much most of the above, except play in a band. I'll leave that to someone with more talent than I have. Also camping going to the range to shoot, and long walks on the beach:D. I like to be out doors as much as possible.

Re: What else are you folks into?

... too much.

I'm an artist, which takes up WAY too much time (but I do get paid for most of it). Part-time pastor at my church, chaplain with Civil Air Patrol, Airsoft with my son, daughters like doing historic reenactments, like to shoot when I can, play guitar (not in a band).

Fortunately, the bulk of my time away from work is poured into family stuff. I rather like it that way.

Re: What else are you folks into?

My other big hobbies (i.e. time and/or money pit) are health and fitness, and home brewing. I also have a motorcycle I am trying to get going again after many years in storage, and I love to go camping with the family.

Last week I worked on a 1936 Chevy pickup. This week I participated in a FLW Bass tournament in VA. Next week I am commercial fishing the Atlantic off of NY. We'll see what next month brings.

Re: What else are you folks into?

Besides raising a family which is getting close to completion, in the off season I'm into off roading. 1-1/2 wks ago we completed a 730 mile (500 off-road) trip through Panamint Valley, southern Nevada, Death Valley, and Owens Valley among others. I also chase for SCORE and Best in the Desert Racing.
I have many other hobbies I don't have enough time left over for!

Classic cars, building hotrods. Anything mechanical really. I have a 1951 Chevy Fleetline and a scratch built rat rod. Old Chevy is drivable, but the rat rod isn't even close.. sometimes I'll take on some computer work if I feel like it.

Re: What else are you folks into?

-Walk the dog
-Hang out with the wife on the back porch while she drinks coffee
-Shovel snow/mow my lawn (occasionally help my neighbors)
-Work on one of my many engines, Glastron, Suzuki Cruiser, Tahoe, 2 Silverado's and a Monte Carlo.
-Freelance Web design
-Moonlighting I roll screens (yes the kind that keep insects out of your home)
-MN Twins Outdoor baseball games
-Up at the cabin
-Hitchin a ride with one of my many pilot friends (I've had the honor of taking the stick on quite a few planes and I am not licensed but am a USAF vet if that makes me anymore qualified)
-Traveling (I try to take 1 domestic and 1 international trip a year, this year was Chicago and Maui, HI next year is perhaps Austin, Memphis, Nashville and then the big one is New Zealand)
-Cooking when I'm in the mood (I don't always enjoy the act of cooking, but when I am in a mood I can really enjoy it for some reason and the food seems to taste better)

I am also active in the community. I am an advocate for human rights, mainly for folks with disabilities.

The wife and I are contemplating a relocation so that might change everything and quite possible put an end to my boating for a while.
