What do you use to glue Plexiglass?

Two-fold question...

Are vintage 60's windshields likely made of Plexiglass? Mine is about 1/8" thick and has a chip out of the corner, about 1" square--I have the piece.

Second, what kind of glue would be used to glue it back in?

Please don't say "silicone", this is a boat!!:D

methyl chloride......it is avalable from the plexi glass store

I was just reading that Testor's model glue works on that, I wonder if it will?

im not sure......but why try when the methyl chloride is what the pros use?

the part you have is a one only.....if the model glue melts it your toast

On the other hand, not sure where to get methyl chloride, and in the past, I've only seen gallon cans of it.

Seems this is more readily available, wondered if anyone had ever tried it.

Ive allways used M.E.K. with good success...

You can find the stuff allmost anywere. ( exept dunkin' dounuts ;) ).
