What do you think of these seats?

I'm looking for seats for my reno project and have been doing quite a bit of research. I'm finding that it's almost impossible to compare prices model for model among different sellers. It seems that even within a brand, every place has slightly different models, sizes, vinyl designs, maybe because of stock age?

Anyway, I'm looking at these on ebay http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=350262807459&ssPageName=ADME:B:SS:US:1123. I've seen both good and bad reviews for Wise seats. They generally have pretty decent warranties.

I've also come across what are called "Promo" seats, which look like other models but seem to be slightly different size, graphic design etc. Are these just over-priced cheaply made seats, or some low price point entry model or what?

LL those are nice lookin seats but one thing I will highly recomend if you are really looking for seats is to visit a Bass Pro Shop . They have alot of seats available in their stores and you can actually test drive them ( put your butt in them and see how they sit ) . I was actually amazed that some of the cheaper wise seats were actually more comfortable than the more expensive seats they had available in the store . Might help you better make a decision even if you end up buying on ebay to know how well your butt will fit and feel in the seats.

I'm not a fan of "Wise" seats from experiences with their el'cheapo $29 Walmart models, but those do look nice.

How quick do you need the seats, yesterday or in 6 months? I picked up 4 seats from Cabelas for $200 when they had free shipping on orders over $150,,, and the seats were on clearance.

That would be the best way, but the nearest Bass Pro shops are 4 & 5 hours away. We have a West Marine here where I could try seats, but they only have about 3 seat models to choose from.

These prices are excellent for anything I've seen with a similar design and "Designer" seems to be the next higher quality level above their "Economy" line; they all have the same warranty, 6 years on the frame and 3 on the vinyl.

The closest ones I've found that are similar to these seem to go for $60-80 ea.

Trying to price shop on these folding seats is quite a racket, you can only compare apples to oranges.

They are very nice looking seats. Very classy looking. Do the colours match your boat?

Those are nice colours. Your boat will look very cool in those colours.

I missed that the auction was for 2 seats, yeah that looks to be a good deal on some nice looking seats. I'd go for it if they matched the boat.

LL I think you will be happy with those seats I have planted my backside in them for a good while at Bass Pro and they were actually more comfy than the $100+ seats they carried ( they are also made alot better than the $29 ones wally world carries ) . The price for those as I recall at Bass Pro was $59 so you got a good deal on them as well :D.

Sounds like you got a nice deal there!

So now when they get here, they can sit in my shed until next spring! I figured at this price, and able to get 4 matching ones to boot, I'd better buy now.

(They had 8 sets 2 hours ago, now 5 sets left!)

Rick, thanks for butt-testing them for me! I'm sure they'll be better than what I had!

Re: What do you think of these seats?

We just picked up 2 wise seats with swivel pedestals from bass pro shops, they were 50 a piece, plus 30 a piece on pedestals. Some of those seats kinda put pressure on your shoulder blades, so its good we went to sit in them.
