Picked up a new Garmin echomap uhd 75sv and i would like to utilize the engine connectivity and see all of the engine data and possibly eliminate some of my old-school gauges.

what will i need? Boat is a 2008 Fourwinns 258v with a Mercury 350 Mag EFI. My dealer here is relatively useless so here i am.

Thanks!

The EchoMap is NMEA 2000 compatible. Your motor is not....

You need to purchase and install a Gateway from Mercruiser / Mercury similar to this to get NMEA 2000 data

Don't know if this the exact one that you need, but you need one of "these" none the less.

Will most likely need to buy and install NMEA 200 back bone starter kit as well

Mercury’s Vessel View is an app for a cell phone.

The Wi-Fi feature on the Garmin is in effect a “hot spot” for use with Garmin’s Active Captain app

this vesselveiw is only 300$ im hoping that wifi module will conect to the new garmin? Not much info on this from mercury or garmin
It won’t. It’s blue tooth. Will show you GPs speed and a map though. Not a chart. All other engine data and fuel is displayed though

You can plug the Gateway directly to the 10 pin connector on the motor

Termination resistors (a) are part of the NEMA backbone

Probably being picky here. But if it’s actually an efi…none of the above will work…but presume it’s a typo and it’s an mpi..with it being a 2008 ?

No probs. You’ll be fine then. Thought it might be the case.
