I'm new to this --------- so please forgive the dumbness, I bought a 16' Kennedy boat with a 35hp merc. Trying to work on this thing is a mind twister. I bought the man. for this motor and nothing in it looks the same--can some one help me find how to get the right man?

Mercury, has over the years built a couple of 2 cyl. 35 hp engines the early ones had coventional ign. and the newer CD ign. do you have a serial number or can post a picture to help identify the year?

the serial number is A951688----Been trying to get rough idle out of the motor but can't, someone suggested to try rebuilding the carb---but it runs good ---dies coming out of the hole hard. Is this an carb problem?

It's 1986 engine, the twins shake alot at idle, it sounds like your a little lean on idle mixture try opening the mixture screw a 1/8 turn at a time and see if it straightens out, if not ck the primary pickup adjustment
