Can someone identify what make and model boat could have been used to make this Batboat?

It is shown here in this youtube video at 0:36 and 0:48
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D6WgMbW5iXw&feature=player_embedded

This was the late 1970s at Orlando, Florida's SeaWorld. I have an interest in all things Batboat pre-Dark Knight and would like to know who made the craft this particular one was based on.

Thank you in advance. :)

Hi Darren,
If you're referring to the blue boat with the fins, that looks like a Starcraft of some sort, judging by the hockey-stick strip down the side. Not sure what model - the deck and windshield is different from the American. It does look a lot like the Stinger S-19, which uses the American hull with a different topside configuration. This is from a '77 brochure...
The original Batboat was a Glastron - but you already knew that...

Are you sure that's Sea World?
Looks a lot like Cypress Gardens.

I am a huge Batman fan myself. If I read that right it said a 1966 Glastron. Cool video, I am going back to watch it again:cool:

The original Batboat was designed and built at Glastron Industries by Mel Whitley and Robert Hammomd and they used a Glastron V-174, Here is the link to the actual Glastron how they made the Batboat

Yes, the original TV show bat boat was a Glastron V-174, BUT the one used in the ski show was not a Glastron. The more I watch the clip, I am certain it is a Starcraft S-19 with fins attached... There is also a Glastron in the clip, as well as some Crosby Hydrodynes (the ski boats that do all the fancy maneuvers).

Thanks for the information! I added it to my blog.

Do you have rough specifications for the Starcraft S-19? I'd like to add that too.

Hi Darren,
The hull was designed by Walman B. Walters, a noted marine architect back in the '60s and '70s. Same hull design was used on the Starcraft American and Medalist series through the early 1990s. The S-19 was rated for up to 180 hp, measured 19'4" long with an 86 1/2-inch beam. Weighed about 1210 lbs. dry.

I've always wanted to find one - I've never even seen one. And I have a Starcraft dealership 2 blocks from my house!
