These wires look to be inside a factory oem protective shield.
One is black and the other one is brown (I think)

My trim gauge is not working on the boat I recently purchased.
I'm curious what these wires are for? They're frayed and just hanging out in the engine bay behind the engine.
They attach to the top section of the outdrive.

I'm hoping they are for the trim gauge on the dash?

Wires your pointing to would be for trim sensor and limit sensor on out side gimble housing. Should have 2 pairs coming out of there. One goes to harness on block, usually by fuel filter and one goes to trim pump.

Thanks for your response.
This limit sensor you speak of, this sensor controls how far the engine can be lifted up with using only the up and down buttons on the throttle?
If so, it seems like that part is hooked up properly? my engine will only trim up so far, after that it will stop until you use the "trailer" button on the throttle.

I will look closer at the trim pump and see if there is any frayed wires coming off of it, it seems like it may go there since the wire is only a couple feet long (though I guess it would be able to reach the main engine wiring harness as well)

Wire #1 goes behind the Trim pump/motor and hooks into the boats wiring harness... Im guessing that's the Trim Up Limit Sensor
Wire #2 is just hanging out, I can't find any old mounting locations for it (ones similar to Wire #1's mounting fixed to the back of the hull)

^^^ The end of Wire #2 ^^^
I'm pretty sure this is for the Trim Gauge on the dash... just need to figure out where to connect it to.

And then, SUPRISE! A bunch of cut wires... anyone know where I can find a wiring diagram for this boat?
