1966 Plymouth Belvedere Slant 6 Wagon

I thought I was the only one who would admit owning a Belvedere... Mine had the 383 :D and cost $50

#1- 82 Chevy S-10 with a 350 small block, 4 speed auto, narrowed Ford 9".
#2- 00 Dakota, lots of miles, nothing broke and 20mpg which wasn't bad mileage
#3- 92 Honda Civic, 330K miles and 30-35MPG (turning off the AC was like hitting nitrous )

1974 VW Westfalia Camper with Corvair 110HP drive train.

1999 Mercedes Benz ML430

2006 Toyota Highlander Limited Hybrid which I still own.

I hear you JB, I forgot a 69 Chevelle, Harley Davidson, GMC 1 ton van and a Samurari that I owned last year (at least). Now my favorites are all messed up.

My forgetter works overtime. :D

I like the VW Westfalia / Corvair powered pick.

My wife and I were just talking about this. There's something to be said about some of those clunkers where you didn't have to worry about scratches, dents and all that. I've owned a couple dozen cars and I love my Ford Expeditions, but if sentimental value is figured in:

3) 1969 Ford F-100 with 390 3 on the tree. My dad, brother and I dragged it up from Texas and did a full resto job.

2) 1989 F-150. My first truck. I bought it two toned, rust and red. Taught my wife how to drive manual transmission in it, towed the boat for many fishing trips and lets face it, there's something cool about the wife driving a pick up.

1) 1979 Ford Granada. My first car, also two toned rust and silver, but the interior was mint which was nice as it was a car of many firsts. It was a sad day when it died. A couple years later I came across it in the junk yard and it brought back many fond memories.

My first one - 1950 Mercury four-door. An aqua color, flat-head V-8, nosed and decked with fender skirts.

1964 Chevy Chevelle two-door hardtop with the 283. In time it fell apart around me, but when it was new it was a hell of a car.

My current 1999 Mustang GT drop-top. As much fun as I've ever had behind the wheel.

Also-rans include my 1964 Lincoln convertible (with suicide doors), and a '75 Dodge maxi-van that took the family to Fla. a number of times.

Re: what are the three top favorite vehicles you have ever owned???

kinda weird but I've owned over 35 vehicles and I'm only 33.

my absolute favorite was my 71 mach 1 mustang. My dad bought it for my mom on their first date, then sold it when they had issues after getting married. then he saw it for sale in early 80's and bought it back. I found it in the garage in early 90's and (with grandma's help convincing) got him to let me get it running. then I restored it and added all options over next several years. in college, another unfortunate turn of events forced me to sell it with my parents full permission. still keep tabs on it to try to get it back in the future...

my next two are kinda weird since after I had to sell it I was stuck with cheap imports for a while in my early twenties....soo...

98 civic ex that I swapped and turbocharged

04 srt-4. such a fun little car, then got together with a girl and had to sell it...only to break up with her 2 months before the wedding...lol

runners up would be my 86 svo and my 88 5.0 (forever project).

Reading through a few of these lists I think I've realized I was born about 15 years late. The mid-50's through the early 70's had to be the high point of American Automotive Design. Great cars.

1946 Willys CJ2a (One of my old toys)
1970 Triumph Spitfire (One of my wifes old toys)
1984 VW Sirocco (first decent car I ever owned)

I've got a 53 Ford F350 that might make the list later if I ever get around to finishing it.

My first and still my favorite was my 1966 Plymouth Satellite Convertible with a 426 Hemi 4 speed and posi rear, when I finished restoring it, I was bound for the service so I sold it back to Plymouth and it was on display in their museum for many years.

Second was my completely stock 64 1/2 Mustang Coupe, fun little car, Dad sold it after I left for the Military.

Third I would have to say was the CJ-7 that I had to sell to fix the well pump here at the house, that thing would go anywhere, but was scary to drive in the ice!

1990 Cavalier Z-24. Quite simply the best car ever made.

1999 Pontiac Montana van "Monty" was a great vehicle for 5+ years.

2004 Chevy Impala (I liked all the Impalas I drove, but I only owned a 2003 for a year, and this one for 3 years.)

Re: what are the three top favorite vehicles you have ever owned???

1978 Pontiac Trans Am - Gold Special Edition (Y88). Just need to finish off the interior. Darn thing flies. Aim, punch, pass. Nothing like it on the road today (in my price range).

1995 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 XE. Miss that little SUV. My first purchase and towed my first boat. Never got stuck - had snow up to the hood and was still moving straight as could be. Only reason I got rid of it was that GM opened up their Employee Discount to Step-Grandkids so it got traded off on a '01 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 5.3L 4x4. Still miss that Pathfinder

1986 Dodge Daytona Turbo Z. 2.2L 3spd auto. My first car. My dad ordered it during the Chrysler strike and it just snuck through before the line shut down. Had full body kit on it from the factory (I still have the rims if someone is looking for a set). Gutless wonder but got me through college and to my first job. Sold it to a coworker of my dad's who was into IMSA racing. On the expressway he dropped it from D to 1st doing 60MPH and blew the thing to kingdom come. Number of days he owned it: 3

Honorable mention: 1980 Pontiac Firebird. Going to be cloned into a 1980 Pace Car. Just need to free up the funds to do it!!!

Mercur Skorpio--black with the most luscious black leather interior I've ever seen.

The Skorpio was a great car and the rear seats even reclined.

I'm thinking things peaked with the US auto industry in 1969 . . . shortly thereafter a lot of federal regulations on bumper fortification, pollution controls, mileage, etc. kicked in . . . and the automotive industry too a while to adjust. I remember not being too fond of any of the US automotive designs from the 1970's.

If those are the top 3, would love to know the other cars you have owned.

Re: what are the three top favorite vehicles you have ever owned???

1986 Cavalier coupe, 83 S-10 w/ZZ3, 1987 Chevy G20 van (the Shi**er), 1990 Chevy G20 conversion van (Pink Obsession), 2003 Impala (Shiny Turd), 99 Pontiac Grand Am (Big Red), 95 Ford Escort (currently have), 95 Chevy Z-71 (Nancy Grace), 2005 Chevrolet Venture (Ruby). I think that's it.

If you think that list isn't exotic, you're right. I don't usually buy cars as toys. I buy them for transportation. With a premium on reliable transportation. That 90 Z-24 had 186,000 miles on it when I sold it in 1999. It ran perfectly (put a fuel pump in it at about 100k), rode nice, handled well, looked great, the interior was "perfect"(and of nicer materials than most cars have today), and the A/C still worked. That 99 Montana I bought with 90k on it in 2007. It still had the same battery in it when I sold it a couple of months ago, and I had just put front brakes on it in July, 49,000 miles after I bought it. It too rode nice and was mighty comftable with leather seats. That 04 Impala led a ROUGH life, first as my company car (64k in 18 months), then as my work car (same work, 50k more in 2 years), finally becoming just a car to drive when it had 125k on it. It always got 20mpg, even when left idling all day, and got 33mpg on the Interstate at 70mph (flat ground). It was "big" without being a boat, rode nice, and was comfortable. Hard for them not to be my favorites.

Might need to pick up a Yugo and a Chevette so that you can have the complete set ;)

Might be better than a Jeep, for sure.

Actually of all those cars, only two were junk, and not nice, the Grand Am, and the 87 Chevy van.
