What am I missing from Steering cable?

I started this project years ago and ran onto hard times so I put it in the barn... 14 years later, I'm ready to finish it. In looking at the steering cable, I cannot remember if there was another part to the end of the steering cable where the engine steering link arm connects. This cable is froze up and I have been adding oil / penetrating oil and other stuff religiously to try to get it to freeze up, but I think I'll have to purchase a new cable. Could someone look at these pictures and tell me what I need and where I can find it? I have been looking all over and I am not sure which package would be applicable. Thanks all!

Dave, There is supposed to be a eye crimped to the end of the steering cable, to which you bolt the steering link. You are clearly missing that piece.

It sounds like a new steering cable in in your future. You may end up buying the entire steering package, since replacement cables are just a bit less, and harder to find.

BTW - I have that exact same motor, although I tossed a rod in it. Let me know if you need any parts...

Yes you are alot better off buying a new rotary system..I got mine new with a steering wheel included for just over a 100.00.The racks are OK but I really like the rotarys...

I just might need some parts. Although, before I parked it in the barn for all those years, I had just rebuilt the power head ( I burnt the #1 Piston out of it) and the lower unit. I did jack up the lower unit skeg a bit tho from some underwater debris!!!!

Are you saying that I can use a rotary instead of rack /pinion steering? It doesn't matter? Also, does that steering end that I am missing, does that come in the new package??
