If you are real good at bargaining, Andreas, the difference could be as little as a couple hundred bux.<br /><br />If you have some insane notion about hopping up your 40 to make it a 50, figure on more like $1500.<br /><br />Good luck.<br />Red sky at night. . . <br />JB

Andreas, first be sure your 40 is in perfect tune, has good compression, is propped right, etc. Start with the basics and make sure your 40HP really is 40Hp!

Good advise. Make sure you are using a full 40 HP now. The difference between a 40 and a 50 in 1988 was the reed stop dimension. <br /><br />Good luck!
