Never heard of welding them together?!? I'm not sure you could start it and if you did, you better hold on cause you're taking off, oh and no REV :/ I just got an entirely new/old complete gear set for my' 66 20 hp with prop shaft, FWD/REV gears and clutch dog for under $100 with shipping.
