Re: Weber carb on 4.3 LX

Idiot at the local speed shop got the wrong one in. So I'm going to order one directly from Holley USA. Could be a couple of weeks before I see it. Pony express has got to learn to swim :)

Will let you know when I get it. Thanks for the thought.

Chris................

I also sent Edelbrock the pictures that I forwarded you, their response to me was that the only thing needed was a standard square bore divided gasket, if I was having fuel percolation or vapor lock issues to use the 3/8" heat insulating gasket #9266. The Edelbrock technician was Greg Suyenaga at gsuyenaga@edelbrock.com, either way I hope it works out, let me know what happens.

Mark

Update,

Put a heat isolating gasket in today. If the weather does the right thing I'll be testing it on Sunday.

Chris............

Chris,

Did you have to replace the fuel line or was it long enough??

Mark

Re: Weber carb on 4.3 LX

Hi Mark,

The gasket is only 1/4" thick so the fuel line remains the same.

Now for the bad news. Used the boat on Sunday and the new gasket didn't make the slightest bit of difference! @#$#!%

Chris.............

Sorry to hear that, I was hoping that would have solved your problem. Have you ever emailed Edelbrock's technical support about this problem, they are usually pretty good at getting back to you quickly??

Mark

Re: Weber carb on 4.3 LX

Mark,

Went out again last night and the carb was empty on first startup. So the problem hasn't changed a bit.

I have e-mailed Edelbrock and yes, they were very quick with a response. Only problem was they told me that what I was seeing couldn't happen. I told them I had the carb in my hand and was watching the fuel drip out and I haven't heard from them since.....

Chris.............

ahh... going MPI is the best band aid ever :)

I was intruiged though by how he said it was dribbleing with the carb off the motor. I've never seen that happen before either.
