After 4 months of sitting, I finally prepped the boat for spring today. Took a couple tries to start, but once it did, it ran great. I did a fresh fluid change and added StaBil and filled the tank (and ran it) before I drained the water.

All seems fine. Weather was 73 today - It was too hard to resist prepping for the weeks to come.

Still too early to water ski, but oh well - I believe they will start to raise the water level in the lakes March 15th, so its only a matter of time.

Anyway, just thought I'd share - Winter isn't too long here, but its still long enough!

BRING ON THE GREEN TREES AND WARM WEATHER!

Did you dry start or toss it in the water?

It's 12 degrees (F) here and the wind is gusting around 30-40 mph. Not quite ready to pull the boat out. :(

I almost want to buy a wet suit so that I can ski longer than 2 months a year.
We only have a hand full of below freezing days,
The 15 day has only one night where ti gets down to 25, and a few where it will get down to 30 or so.

I plan on pulling my boat out this weekend. Give it a good once over, start?er up (on muffs), maybe fit in a trip to the lake. Saturday?s forecast is cloudy, high 77? coolness!

Muffs are used to introduce water to the cooling system of your boat, when you are running the motor. without being in the water. they go around the lower drive on the fresh water intake. they can be purchased at any napa, or marina. for around $8.00 if you operate the engine out of water without them your impeller is most likely spent..

Look just answer the question. I already read that thread it does not explain what muffs are, it tells about the different techniques.

You should do it! My uncle and a couple of his friends got wet suits. They ski from early spring till fall almost every weekend (Susquehanna river, southern PA). The part that I find humorous is that these guys are all in their 60's.

Where do you boat bowman316? I'm probably not too far from you.
