Power to my panel goes on and off, I have gas in the tank but it shows I am low. No power to my ignition switch and my boat engine won't turnover.
I suspected teh ignition switch so i just bought new one, still same issue.

I have a Bayliner Capri. What do I need to do to restore power back to my panel and turn on the engine!!!!

Info: New Battery, all fuses under the dash are good, the 50 amp breaker on the engine is set. Horn, blower, trim all work.
THANKS !!!

Re: WB

Get your volt meter and check the engine circuit breaker on both terminals. (Black meter lead on ground, red meter lead on the terminals).

I am a rookie here, Where would the engine circuit breaker be: under the steering wheel???? on on the engine block???? (if so where specifically)

Re: WB

I checked the circuit breaker on the starter and it has voltage on both ends. I checked the slave solenoid and i had voltage on one end (red and purple) wire. what else I can check? thanks

Re: WB

Under the dash, check at the igniton switch on the red purple wire to see if there is voltage, if not, look for a 15A fuse in that wire near the switch.

Re: WB

Done, 10 V reading. all the other wires ' reading is 0 volt.
Just want to mention that it feels like the kill switch is ON all the time. what do you think?

Re: WB

If you only have 10V, then your battery is dead, or you have a bad connection somewhere.

We just had a similar problem. Turns out the original owner had bypassed the kill switch by splicing in some automotive wire with unsealed butt conntectors. The wire corroded and parted at the butt connector leaving us dead in the water 20+ miles from the dock. Thanks goodness I have unlimited towing with BoatUS.
