I'm familiar with the middle and lower parts of Watts Bar. Fort Southwest Point was one of the first frontier outposts in the area at the Clinch and Tennessee River confuence. Close by is 58 Landing where the stern wheeler river boat 'Watts Bar Belle' boards for dinner cruises.

There's a rope swing on the northeast side of the island at TN River mile 545. Any youngsters brave enough to go off the swing there will need to wear a good ski vest, or something, as the water is 40 feet deep about 20 feet from shore. The restaurant at Euchee Marina http://www.eucheemarinaresort.com/marina.htm is reportedly very good, and the slide in their swim area definately looks cool. No thanks necessary, but if you like, spend a gob of money during your visit... our school system needs the tax revenue lol.
