While 88hsp Johnson is running water flowing out of peehole, then stops, did replace thermostats, could this be water pump? If so where is it located?

Re: waterpump?

Hello Waterskier;
The water pump is on top of the gearcase, however if the engine isn't overheating you probly don't need to change the water pump. That small hose that the pee stream comes out of is easily plugged up. Try blowing through the pee hole with compressed air. I would try this rather than dropping the gear case first.
Good Luck

If the water flows first and then stops,it is possible that the thermostat is in upside down.It is easy enough to clear the line before you check the thermostat. CC
