Hello:

I recently purchased this boat and I need to paint the bottom as I will be keeping it in the water.
The previous owner used a "trailer" bottom paint VC Performance Epoxy, which has no biocide. Anyway, I'm looking for pix or advice on how high to bring up the bottom paint. The "splashrail" or lengthwise strake would seem to be right but advice is appreciated!144913849_946230219245975_2371279791084917050_o.jpg

Best to launch the boat and let it sit in a slip or dockside with no one aboard for an hour or so.See if you can get it back onto the trailer without boarding it.There should be a waterline you can follow.Blue tape it off and then go several inches above that.Perfect would be to have the waterline high enough that when 2 people are sitting in the boat ,the bottom paint line is still above the water.Charlie

Easy enough to mark the waterline with an old fashion pencil. Yes, they work on wet surfaces.
