I am running off a tank if that makes a difference, have run it off a hose before without that much water coming out.

Not normal. Remove cowling and run engine to see where it is coming from. Possible it is malfunctioning poppit valve. Could also be something simple like telltale hose fell off.

The water is only coming out the top and front of the outdrive out of a hole. The water on the side of the cowling and below is a reflection. I will get a video again this morning when neighbors are awake and post it.

Here is another two videos from each side. Again water only coming out the front of drive behind mounting bracket. I will guess its normal excess water coming out when running in a barrel. Didnt see water outvof there on a hose. water. Would that be right. Reason I'm asking is temp alarm going off at lake after a burn. Hanged thermostat and have double checked water tube inside the leg is hooked properly and sure of that. WNt to try it at lake Monday but thought I'd ask about that water on here.

If you can't see a leak inside the cowling, there is a seal on top of the water tube where the water enters the powerhead.....if it was leaking bad enough could be the cause of the overheat problem...not enough water pressure.

Does that amount of water seem excessive to you and others? And that's a remove the powerhead fix?

Seems excessive.....not 100% sure on your engine but I believe the PH would have to come off....did on mine. Would rule out all other leak points first as this would be a last resort for sure.
